In Class 2 we have a mixture of Year 2 and Year 3 children.
Learning is through whole class teaching; small groups working with the teacher and play based learning while using the provision areas.
We use the Read, Write Inc programme to help the children learn their sounds and building on those they have learnt in Class 1. This helps with both their reading and writing.
For number work we use Numicon, this uses plastic shapes to represent each number to 10, so the children can see how numbers change when we carry out calculations. They can then go on to visualise thiswhen carrying out mental calculations.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle with a sports lid, labelled with their names, so they can have a drink at anytime without leaving the classroom.
PE day is Wednesday.

The school vision at St Ethelwold's VA School is to: "Be The Best You Can" "Bwddwch eich gorau". This vision cascades throughout the fabric of the school and is central to the work of the school. The school community believes that a strong commitment to effort will lead to high standards of attainment and achievement and also to the important life skills of perseverance and resilience. Effort will be both reported on and rewarded.
